In collaboration with our apprentices, we focus on providing high quality standards – today and in the future. At our six sites, we regularly train young people as print media technologists – at our subsidiary in Essen we also provide training for future industrial business management assistants and in Felsberg for finishing and binding media technologists. In Wassenberg, some apprenticeships for industrial mechanics and for electronics engineers in the operations technology field are still available. In Lage, young people can train to become a warehouse logistics specialist.

Our training is practical and diverse.The chances of being offered a permanent position within the WKS Group after training is completed, are also excellent. In addition to traditional further education, we like to support our colleagues in acquiring relevant additional qualifications. Essen

Industrial business management assistants are number crunchers and talented organisers. They ensure that the company handles and processes all commercially relevant matters. You can also find additional information about this occupation here.

In all commercial departments for a pre-defined period, such as, for example, human resources, accounting, financial controlling, central purchasing, and order processing.

All employers at WKS Print Partner GmbH enjoy flexible working hours (flexitime) within a 40-hour week.

For the final presentation at the IHK (Chamber of Commerce and Industry), relating to a field of activity in a department selected by yourself, we guarantee that candidates will receive intensive supervision from the department in question and an exam simulation if requested.

Print media technologists ensure that reproductions of text and images are of high quality. They are the qualified specialists that manage the entire printing process and ensure that the printed product is appropriately configured and designed. Finishing and binding media technologists

Felsberg

Finishing and binding media technologists are specialists who are required to put the finishing touches to print products. The field of advertising particularly requires brochures, catalogues, and mailings to be individually bound, folded, or punched.

Planning of finishing and binding orders, setup and configuration of press lines, control and monitoring of production processes, maintenance of finishing and binding lines.

Finishing and binding media technologists check the printed sheets and select the suitable finishing and binding technology taking economic, technical, and ecological aspects into consideration.
They set up and/or configure the finishing and binding lines and process control systems, ensuring that the production equipment is ready. In the production department, they monitor inserting, diverting and discharge systems, among others, and employ cutting, gathering and binding units to finish and bind the printed sheets, or they complete brochure production using folding units and finishing techniques.

Warehouse logistics specialists

Lage

The role of warehouse logistics specialists is to plan, control and organise the flow of goods. They design sub-processes for the movement of goods and/or cargo handling in large warehouses or industrial operations. In the area of transport logistics, warehouse logistics specialists also handle route planning, fleet scheduling or even customs clearance.

Media designers with a specialisation in design and technology

Felsberg and Grabfeld

Planning production processes; designing features for media products; handling, creating, transferring, and converting data for multiple use; coordination with customers on work results

As a media designer specialised in design and technology, you prepare the required work processes for print production, collect different data, ensure that projects are technically feasible and contribute to their design and implementation on the computer. When doing so, you are guided by the customer’s specifications and the desired purpose of communication.
